We don’t mind having Pogba at Barca ―Pique

Gerard Pique has revealed his thoughts on Paul Pogba’s status at Manchester United and revealed that his side Barcelona would welcome him at the Camp Nou.

In a what would become a revealing interview with The Express, he was coy about commenting on the much-picked-apart dynamic between the World Cup-winning midfielder and his manager Jose Mourinho.

“I know very little about what’s happening there [with Pogba and Mourinho]. It’s very private between them, their relationship,” he said.

But he was not so shy about heaping praise on the 25-year-old, who has seemed somewhat unhappy playing under the Portuguese at times and has been linked with a move to Barcelona, as well as other clubs, throughout the summer.

“What I know is Pogba is a great player and he plays for Manchester United right now. We will see in the future if he wants to change clubs,” Pique said.

In an unexpected turn, the Spaniard then brought up the subject of a potential move for the player to the La Liga champions.

“We will be happy to have him here, obviously. We want the best players to be at Barcelona,” he said.

“But we respect Manchester United because it’s his club. Until he says something or the club says something, he’s a Manchester United player.”

That could change up until the last day of this month, when the Spanish window closes for the summer.
