The chairman of the Zamfara State Universal Basic Education Board (SUBEB), Professor Nasiru Garba Anka has expressed commitment to continue encouraging pupils on Basic Education School Sports (BESS) in the state.
Anka gave the assurance in Gusau while presenting awards to winners of sports competitions held at Zamfara State College of Arts and Science (ZACAS) playing ground in the state.
The competition was organized by UBEC in collaboration with Zamfara state Universal Basic Education Board (ZSUBEB ) for students in the state.
According to the ZSUBEB Executive Chairman who was impressed by the performance of the competing pupils, “this contest is impressive, I’m committed to continue encouraging our school pupils to enhance Basic Education School Sports in the state.
“The competition is to encourage school pupils and keep them abreast with sporting activities,” he said.
In his remark, the Zamfara state commissioner of Education, Science and Technology, Mallam Wadatau Madawaki appreciated the efforts of UBEC and ZSUBEB collaboration for organising the sports competitions for pupils in the school.
He advised school pupils to be more dedicated on learning and other enhancing activities being leaders of tomorrow and remain good ambassadors of the state.
The final football competition was played between school pupils of Tsafe local government who represented central and Anka local government representing western zone that won the trophy in the state.
