According to Sky Sports News, West Ham are in talks with Ligue 1 side PSG about signing Javier Pastore.
Furthermore, due to PSG desperately needing to meet Financial Fair Play regulations, the 28-year-old could be set to cost West Ham just £17.5 million.
Pastore made his senior debut for Argentinean side Club Atlético Huracán in 2007.
While at Club Atlético Huracán Pastore made 31 appearances scoring eight and assisting six. An impressive goal and assist tally for a central midfielder.
This impressive season earned Pastore a move to Serie A side Palermo. Pastore played 82 games in Italy, scoring 16 and assisting 16 in those games.
Pastore then earned his big money move to PSG in August 2011, costing the Ligue 1 side a fee of around £37.8 million.
Since moving to France Pastore has proven to be a real star for PSG. The Argentinean has played 269 games for the French side scoring 45 and assisting 62 in that time, he is an excellent passer of the ball and is also very skilful.
Furthermore, while at PSG Pastore has earned a host of trophies. Such as, winning Ligue 1 five times, the French Cup four times, the French League Cup five times and the French Super Cup four times.
However, in recent years, especially this past season, Pastore has begun to struggle to hold down a regular starting place.
The midfielder played 25 Ligue 1 games in the 2017/18 season but a lot of those appearances came from the bench.
This is because PSG are constantly trying to improve their side in order to win the Champions League and given how much money they are spending, players are coming in every season to replace the ageing Pastore.
So, with PSG looking to balance their books and add fresher legs to their squad, West Ham stand a very good chance of signing the talented midfielder this summer.
