Nigeria Professional Football League (NPFL) side, FC Ifeanyi Ubah, will this week host the representatives of West Ham United, a Premier League side in Lagos and Nnewi in a bid to strengthen the partnership between both clubs.
Top executives at West Ham led by the Managing Director, Angus Kinnear and the president of FC IfeanyiUbah, Dr Patrick Ifeanyi Ubah will today unveil the blueprint that will guide the hunt for the next generation of Nigerian football stars.
The project which is aimed at discovering talented kids between the ages of six and 15 years will kick off in December with coaches and scouts of the EPL side in attendance to offer technical support.
Selected kids will be enrolled into IfeanyiUbah football academy with the aim of harnessing their talents, thus providing West Ham United with a pool of talented players to pick from on a quarterly basis.
Tribunesport recalls that FC IfeanyiUbah recently signed a partnership with West Ham last August which would see both clubs join forces on a number of football-related projects executed by FC Ifeanyi Ubah, from best-practice coaching initiatives to establishing grassroots football programmes in Nigeria, all with a view to improving the standard of football.
