There are strong indications that the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) General Elections scheduled to hold later this year may be a mirage.
This is as  a result of the current court injunctions  from Bayelsa State Court on the Federation refraining it from holding its Annual General Assembly where all election modalities would have been tabled and finalised.
Mr Seigha Obienne had filed a suit against Pinnick and some other people asking for an order restraining them from holding AGA since 2021.
Investigation conducted by Sportingtribune reveals that the NFF executives/leadership have set up a process that will usher in new leadership but for the court injunctions.

Also, Sportingtribune reliably gathered that should the term of the current executives expire and the court injunction has not been vacated, world football governing body (FIFA) will have no choice than to set up a normalisation committee to run the affairs of the Federation pending the period election will hold.
Sportingtribune while speaking with a top NFF official under anonymity said “We at the NFF are ready for the election because we have set in motion arrangements for a hitch free election but this court injunction refraining us from holding our AGA is slowing us down and we cannot do anything outside court order.”
He continued, “As a result of this, we are appealing to those who took us to court to return to the court to file a counter so that the injunctions could be vacated. Once this is done, election will hold because having a normalisation committee will not be too good for us,” he said
