After making his debut for Shooting Stars Sports Club (3SC) this season, Nojeem Olukokun has promised to put an end to his side’s goalscoring problem.
The utility player who just recovered from a knee injury played his first game of the season last Sunday when the Oluyole Warriors pipped Rivers United 2-1 in a Nigeria Professional Football League match day six game.
He stated that he is ready to give his best on the field of play to score as many goals with the help of his team-mates.
“I know my return to the sqaud will bring a solution to our scoring issue as I’m ready to score goals. I know I can’t do it all alone but with the help of my colleagues.
“We need to utilise our scoring chances because we wasted a number of scoring chances in our last home game against Rivers United, but our coaching crew are working on it which will count on our next game against Wikki Tourists.
“On my own, I have set 15 goals target this season for myself and if I am able to surpass this target, that will be a bonus, but my main concern is for my team to do well this season. We have young and enterprising players that can make things happen only if we utilise every of our opportunities on the field of play,” the former Kwara United forward said.
Olukokun believes 3SC could spring surprises in Bauchi when they face Wikki Tourists.
“We are hoping to pick our first away points in Bauchi. Wikki will be more aggresive because of their loss to Lobi Stars and on our part, we want to redeem our image before our teeming fans, after we dropped two points at home against MFM. Teams are getting away points and there is nothing stoping us from doing the same and that is going to be our mission to Bauchi,” he said.
