‘We will be better than last year thanks to signings’

Pep Guardiola is happy with his team's signings.

Pep Guardiola expressed on Friday that he is hopeful about the upcoming season, stating he is ‘content with the effort’ made by the Citizens in the transfer market.

‘We will be better, but all the teams will improve’, the Spaniard said. Though not official yet, the next signing looks to be Dani Alves from Juventus.

Guardiola faces his second season in charge of Manchester City, and is still hoping to add to the squad before the window closes. In the following weeks, several arrivals could be made official, including Kyle Walker (Tottenham Hotspur), the mentioned Dani Alves, Benjamin Mendy (Monaco) or Ryan Bertrand (Southampton).

‘I am content. The club has made a great effort this summer’, he said on Friday during the Icons of Football golf event, which was held in Belfry, England.

Manchester City have confirmed, before the opening of transfer window, the signings of Bernardo Silva, from Monaco, and Ederson, who arrived from Benfica.

‘We will be better than last year. Just like Everton will be better. All the teams will improve, of that there is no doubt’, Pep Guardiola promised.

The Citizens came third in the Premier League last season, and have disposed of Willy Caballero, Jesús Navas, Gael Clichy, Bacary Sagna and Pablo Zabaleta, as well as selling Enes Unal to Villarreal for 14 million euros.
