Will Spurs ever win a PL game at Wembley?

Mauricio Pochettino and a number of first team players have all come out and said playing at Wembley is not a mental obstacle, but they continue to struggle at their temporary home and are yet to win a Premier League game.

Admittedly, Spurs lifted their Wembley curse by beating Borussia Dortmund in the Champions League on Wednesday, but once again failed domestically with a draw against Swansea on Saturday.

Pochettino’s men have now dropped seven points at home this season, which will be disappointing considering they were unbeaten at White Hart Lane in the league last ter

Now, summer signing Fernando Llorente is the latest star to claim their Wembley woes are nothing to worry about.

‘Games like today can happen because one team defends with a lot of players and defends well. It can happen,’ Llorente said after the Swansea draw.

All the games will not happen like today. If Harry Kane scores when the ball touches the post we are speaking about other things. We have to continue to work and nothing more.

‘Winning at Wembley is very important. In the beginning we have found some difficulties but we have to continue to work in this way.

‘On Wednesday we played a very good match here and this is the way forward for us.’

Spurs face Barnsley in the League Cup at Wembley on Wednesday in a game they will be very much expected to win, but will have to wait until October 14, when they face Bournemouth, to have another crack at ending their Premier League winless run at the national stadium.
