Wilshere breaks silence over England World Cup axe

Arsenal’s Jack Wilshere has brilliantly responded to being left out of England’s 2018 World Cup by agreeing to go on a lads holiday with one of his followers.

Gareth Southgate will announce his 23-man squad on Wednesday and the Gunners midfielder will not be named, despite playing regularly for the north Londoners this season.

Wilshere received the bad news from the Three Lions boss on Tuesday morning via a phone call.

After news of the 26-year-old emerged, one follower tweeted Wilshere and said: “Oright lad I know you’re not off world cup so fancy coming Zante with me and the lads let me know sound x.”
