Stanley Nwabali, goalkeeper of the Super Eagles, has mocked Moroccan players and officials following their defeat to Senegal in the final of the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON).
Morocco lost the tightly contested final 1-0 to Senegal on Sunday, with Pape Gueye scoring the decisive goal in extra time during a dramatic encounter in Rabat.
Videos circulating online showed Moroccan players and stadium officials taking towels meant to keep Senegal goalkeeper Edouard Mendy’s gloves dry amid light rain and repeatedly throwing them into the stands.
The incident mirrored what happened during Morocco’s semi-final clash against Nigeria, where Nwabali had his towels repeatedly snatched, forcing him to return to the bench several times to get replacements.

Reacting after Morocco’s loss in the final, Nwabali took to his X page to taunt the Moroccans, suggesting they use the towels taken from him to wipe their tears.
“Make una use all my towel una carry wipe una tears,” he wrote in pidgin English.
Nigeria went on to secure the AFCON bronze medal on Saturday after defeating Egypt on penalties, with Nwabali saving spot-kicks from Mohamed Salah and Omar Marmoush to seal the Super Eagles’ ninth third-place finish.
