Borussia Dortmund pulled off the signing of the summer when they snapped up Axel Witsel, Belgium boss, Roberto Martinez claims.
The 29-year-old was playing his football with Chinese Super League outfit Tianjin Quanjian when BVB snapped him up for just £18million, which looks to be a bargain in this day and age.
Martinez certainly believes so as Witsel has impressed in his opening 10 games as Dortmund have made their way to the top of the Bundesliga table.
In a crazy summer of transfer activity, the Spaniard says Witsel to BVB was the standout deal.
“The best transfer in the world this season is Axel Witsel to Borussia Dortmund,” he told Sport Bild.

“He is the best investment in European football. What he brings to the team for a relatively small transfer fee of €20 million makes him the best signing of this transfer period.
“Dortmund deserve tremendous recognition for the signing of Axel. He had gone under the radar in China. I knew he would prevail.”
