Super Eagles technical adviser, Gernot Rohr, has praised the resilience shown by the Chipolopolo of Zambia in their last games against Algeria which they won, but assured that going into the crucial game against Nigeria in Uyo would be a decisive one.
“Zambia have a good team, we also have a good team and I am confident that the Super Eagles will defeat them in Uyo,” Rohr said on Tuesday.
He solicited the cooperation of fans to turn out massively to ensure the Super Eagles take the maximum points at the end of the crucial encounter on Saturday.
Rohr, who ruled out injury worries, said the players were highly motivated for the big game, adding that he would explore those vantage points to take the Zambians to the cleaners.
He personally supervised the first light walkout session of the players on Tuesday at the training pitch overlooking the Ibom Le Meridien Hotel and Golf Resort.
According to him, the players would be drilled twice daily (morning and evening) before the clash on Saturday.
Meanwhile, the Akwa Ibom State government has assured that all necessary logistics will be put in place for Nigeria to beat Zambia.
The Commissioner for Youths and Sports, Mr. Monday Ebong Uko, who received the team that arrived at the Ibom International Stadium late on Monday evening, said the Eagles were in high spirits to overrun the Chipolopolo.
“God has delivered them [Chipolopolo] into our hands, and this time around I believe the goals could be as many as 4-0,” Uko said, adding that the Godswill Akpabio International Stadium would continue to be a fortress for visiting teams in crucial encounters.
