Xavi reveals his successor… a Real Madrid man!

FORMER Barcelona captain Xavi Hernandez spoke about the topical issues of football, and signalled out the player he believes to be the heir to his throne…

In an interview for German publication ‘Bild’, Xavi shocked many by speaking about Real Madrid and one of their players. He also stated that the Real player was he successor in his position.

‘Kroos is like an engine in the Real Madrid game, because of the way he plays, he reminds me a lot of myself, he is my successor in that position’, Xavi said about the German midfielder.

Despite heaping praise on the Real Madrid man, Xavi said he would not support the Spanish team in Cardiff: ‘As a former Barca player, I cannot support Real Madrid, if Madrid is doing well, Barca is going badly, it has always been that way’, he added, ‘I wish Juve luck, they deserve it for their work in recent years’.

Barcelona have struggled to find a replacement for their former captain since his departure in 2015, and the Catalans will not be happy that he named a star of bitter rivals Madrid as his successor.
