The Ivorian started only his first Premier League game of the season against Crystal Palace last weekend
Speaking to BT Sport in the video above, Yaya Toure reveals his delight in starting his second consecutive game for Manchester City.
The Ivorian, who was named Sky Blues’ Player of the Year for the 2013-14 season, had initially struggled to establish himself under new boss Pep Guardiola.
Admittedly, Toure’s chances were hampered after his representative engaged a war of words with the Spaniard following the 33-year-old’s omission from a Champions League squad.
But following an apology from Toure, the midfielder started against Crystal Palace last weekend and scored two goals to help his side win.
Toure was again picked to start again Burnley in Saturday’s early kick-off, and again City won 2-1.
Speaking after his first time exile, he said: “I’m delighted to play, I always want to play and help my teammates.”
And Toure revealed his wife convinced him there was a plus side to his absence.
He added: “Like my wife said, ‘I will look much younger’.”
