Yaya Toure
West Ham United are reportedly on the verge of signing Manchester City midfielder Yaya Toure on a free transfer.
Ivory Coast international Toure will leave the Etihad Stadium when his contract expires at the end of June, bringing an eight-year stay with the Citizens to a close.
The 35-year-old, who won three Premier League titles during his time at City, has stated his desire to remain in the Premier League and it appears a move to the London Stadium is close to being completed.
West Ham are expected to undertake a big squad overhaul during the summer transfer window and they are interested in bringing in the midfielder on either a one or two-year deal.
The Hammers, who parted ways with David Moyes recently, are said to be closing in on appointing former City boss Manuel Pellegrini, who worked with Toure during his time in Manchester.
It is unsure how much West Ham are willing to pay Toure in wages although it is thought he will have to take a big pay-cut from the huge amounts he is currently on at City.
