President Bola Tinubu has said that the Chairman of the National Sports Commission (NSC), Mallam Shehu Dikko, truly earned and deserved his appointment.
The President stated this during a strategic meeting with the new leadership of the NSC at the Presidential Villa last Friday where he lauded Dikko’s achievements and visibility within the sector.
“I’ve been seeing you in the papers. Congratulations. You earned it and deserve it,” the President said underscoring his confidence in Dikko’s capacity to lead the commission.
Tinubu congratulated Dikko while reiterating that he deserved to lead the number one sports entity in Nigeria. The President’s speech thus confirmed Dikko’s exceptional achievements in sports administration and his portfolio as a professional administrator.
Dikko, while expressing gratitude to President Tinubu for the trust reposed in him, pledged that the new leadership of the NSC would work diligently to actualise the Renewed Hope Agenda for the nation’s sports development.
The NSC chairman, however, commended the President’s vision to transform the sports sector, assuring him (Tinubu) of the Commission’s commitment to fulfil its mandate.
Also present at the meeting were the Director General of the NSC, Bukola Olopade, and the Senior Special Assistant to the President on Grassroots Sports Development, Adeyinka Zulu.
