Eight teams have qualified for the quarter-finals of the ongoing 5th edition of the YSFON under-20 interward football competition in Hong, Adamawa state.
The competition which kicked off on the 15th had all the 12 wards in the local government area taking part.
Speaking to journalists, the coordinator, of the Youth Sports Federation ( YSFON), Mr. Abduldaf Usman said about seven players have been identified so far by the technical team of the competition.
Usman, while thanking the sponsors, Engr. Nimrod Musa for giving the youths a chance to excel, called on the Adamawa state government to encourage these youths by providing facilities for training, stressing that Adamawa is blessed with talents that can play against their pairs all over the world.
He also commended the discipline exhibited by both officials, players and the fans.
The quarter-finals which come up today will see Mayolope taking on Hong, Husherizum vs Thilbang,
Daksiri vs Bangshika and Uba vs Gahara Fc.
