Zidane defends misfiring Benzema

Real Madrid coach, Zinedine Zidane has jumped to the defence of misfiring French striker Karim Benzema.

With just five goals to his name this season there is a big possibility that he will be sold in the summer but Los Blancos coach Zidane appears to be in no rush to off load him.

Although his hand maybe forced, as President Florentino Perez looks to add some world stars to his squad and the likes of Benzema and possibly Gareth Bale could be on their way.

Yet speaking after Real defeated Malaga at the weekend, Zidane defended his man.

“Benzema? He’s not going to throw in the towel. He likes scoring and had chances,’ he said.

‘He played very well and only lacked the goal.

“It’s been complicated for him in front of goal this season, but it’s not over yet.”
