Shooting Stars Sports Club (3SC) newly-signed starlet, Sunday Faleye who scored on his debut in the Nigeria Professional Football League (NPFL) last Sunday in the 2-0 victory over Lobi Stars has said his target is to ply his trade in Europe.
The forward stunned many faithful of the Oluyole Warriors at the Lekan Salami Stadium when he scored in his first contact with the ball after he came on to replace Ebitimi Agogo in the second half.
Faleye, a product of Free Stans Football Academy, Lagos State, says he hopes to score as many goals as possible for Shooting Stars before the mid-season, hoping that his exploits would earn him offers to play abroad.
“I was eager to feature for 3SC immediately I knew I was listed for this match, I had a premonition that I would score against Lobi if I am fielded and thank God my conviction came to pass. It was based on the level of training I have received and I was in high spirits to play my first match in the Nigerian top-flight.
“I must give kudos to my elder team-mate, Suraj Sodiq, for the wonderful pass and I dedicate the goal to my loved ones. I would like to score in every game and I believe with the support of my team-mates and divine favour, this dream is feasible,” Faleye said.
Asked on his immediate dream, he said
“I can play half season for 3SC and leave for Europe if the right offer comes because that is my target, but my focus is how to use this great club as a stepping stone to launch my career. Signing for a big club like Shooting Stars is a boost in my career and I want to justify my inclusion in the team, it is not how long but how well. Today, I feel great and I thank fans for the love, they are wonderful. I am happy that I scored in my first premier league game,” Faleye said.
