TWO goals from Adamu Mohammed ensured that the Shooting Stars Sport Club , 3SC of Ibadan left Kano empty-handed in a Week Three thriller against home side, Kano Pillars who won by 2-1.
Shooting Stars created the first scare of the day when Adigun Adewale silenced the home fans when he put his side ahead in the 42nd minute.
Mohammed restored parity when he scored for the home side in the 47th minute.
The game was heading for a draw until Mohammed netted the winner in stoppage time for Pillars.
Pillars’ coach, Kadiri Ikhana told Tribunesport after the game that his side got more than they bargained.
‘That was tough from the Shooting Stars, they gave it to us and almost shocked us. If they can improve on this, they can go places,’ said Ikhana who had a brief stint with the Stars last season.
Meanwhile, Shooting Stars coach, Fatai Amoo explained that the result was painful and eye-opening.
‘We got the first goal and were looking for the second. We know it was not going to be easy in a place like Kano but we fought hard, the lesson is against a strong side like Pillars, you have to maintain high concentration levels. We shall encourage the players to go all out against the MFM on Wednesday when we play at home.’’
