‘The Dail Mail’ reports that United chiefs may be ready to sanction an eye-watering deal to bring Cristiano Ronaldo back to Manchester, alongside Alvaro Morata. The deal would see United pay £183 million and long-time Real target David De Gea would also head back to his homeland in part-exchange.
Ronaldo has made it clear that he wants to move on from the Spanish giants in the last few days, citing a perceived lack of support in the face of accusations of tax fraud by Spanish prosecutors.
Upon hearing the news, Madrid allegedly placed a £350 million price tag on the Portuguese in order to ward off interest from PSG. However, they may be more perceptive to a deal including De Gea, who they have courted from a distance for some time and who they have reportedly come close to signing in the past. The move would be a huge boost for AC Milan, whose goalkeeper Gianluigi Donnarumma recently stated he would not be signing a new contract with the club, with many reports stating that Real is his most likely destination.
However, given the complex nature of any such deal and the fact that Ronaldo is currently away at the Confederations Cup with Portugal, no deal is imminent.
