Over 150 golfers have been drawn up for the Parakoyi Tunde Afolabi 70th golf tournament scheduled for this weekend at Ibadan Golf Club (IGC), Onireke, Ibadan.
The Chairman, Local Organising Committee, Mr Akin Funmilayo said the purpose of the tournament was to celebrate his installation of Chief Tunde Afolabi, as Parakoyi of Ibadanland.
Funmilayo said elaborate efforts were being made to make the tournament a memorable one.
The former Captain of IGC disclosed that “We want to celebrate Chief Afolabi 70th birthday who happens to be a member of the board of Trustee of IGC. He has contributed immensely towards the development of IGC and he’s a passionate golfer.

“He’s a great philanthropist, a worthy indigene of Ibadanland and his contribution towards development of golf cannot be quantified.” he said.
The tournament is expected to bring together captains of industries, businessmen and notable personalities to IGC.
Welcome dinner is expected to be held on Friday at 7pm while the tee-off ceremony is scheduled for 6:30am while the closing ceremony will hold the same day at 5pm.
