Over 200 golfers are expected to participate at the 23rd Tiger Amateur Open Golf Championship which tees off this weekend, December 7-9 at Tiger Golf Club (TGC), Adekunle Fajuyi Cantonment, Odogbo, Ibadan.
Tiger Open which is the biggest amateur golf tournament in Nigeria will see numbers of golfers competing for prizes in various categories of the event which include super veterans (70yrs and above), Veterans (60-69yrs), armed forces, 2 division, retired military personnel, civilian among others.
According to the Competition Secretary of the Club, Barrister Tunde Akande Esq said the first day of the tournament on Saturday, December 8 will be the qualifiers where only those whose scores fall within the cut off will qualify to play the final round on Sunday, December 9 while the closing ceremony hold the same day.

He said golf enthusiasts all over the country are always expecting Tiger Open which is one of the best tournament at TGC.
Clubs expected to participate in the two-day tourney include, are Ikeja Golf Club, Ikoyi Golf Club, Abeokuta Golf Club, Sagamu Golf Club, MicCom and Country Golf Club, Ada, Tiger Golf Club, Ogbomoso Golf Club and Ekiti Golf Club, Kaduna Golf Club, Jaji Golf Club, Ibom Golf Club, Otukpo Golf and Country Club among others.

The tournament will tee off by The General Officer Commanding 2 Division Nigerian Army, Major General Azinta alongside Chief of Army staff and South West Governors.
