2016 AWCON: Falcons have no excuse —Omagbemi

Coach of Nigeria’s Super Falcons, Florence Omagbemi says her team is aware of the task ahead and will be ready for next month’s Africa Women’s Cup of Nations in Cameroon.

Despite time constraint, Omagbemi insists they will work hard to excel and leave no room for excuses.

“I’m back and we’ve begun from where we stopped during the qualifier,” Omagbemi told Goal.

“We are all aware of the time bound. I’m not going to making an excuse of that and just want to work with what we have at hand. We may not have enough time but hope to work with those who are fit and get ready.

“Coming down to join the team with a few sessions we’ve heard towards our preparations, I’m happy with what my assistants have done so far. The players’ mindset is good and they are in high spirits in the camp.

“From the qualifiers against Senegal, we know we have the team that will go and represent the country in Cameroon. The players are aware of the task ahead.

“We are still expecting our professional players though and I’m sure they  would join us soon. We will continue to work hard, we will blend well in time before the tournament.

“I’m happy with the report I’ve got. We know what is at stake. We are trying to do our best to make Nigerians happy and we believe with hard work and commitment from the players, the technical crew and I, at the end of the day, will come out victorious in Cameroon,” the former Falcons caption said.
