Javier Mascherano
Barcelona has confirmed that Javier Mascherano is set to leave the club and the Blaugrana will hold a farewell ceremony for the Argentine on Wednesday.
The 33-year-old is widely expected to complete a move to the Chinese Super League this winter, and Barcelona have already brought in Yerry Mina as cover.
Although the club have not confirmed where he is heading, they have said that it’s time to say goodbye to the defender.
“Javier Mascherano is leaving FC Barcelona after seven and a half seasons.
“The Argentinian will be receiving an institutional farewell from the club on Wednesday at 11.00am CET in the Auditori 1899, at an event that will be streamed on the club website.
“It will be attended by club president Josep Maria Bartomeu and the first team squad.”
Mascherano can expect a fond farewell from the club he has served so well since joining from Liverpool in 2010.
Let’s wish him all the best for the future and says thanks for being such a brilliant player for Barcelona.
