The Sports Unit of the Nigeria Customs Service (NCS) has announced the date for its open trials ahead of the 2025 CGC Volleyball Premier League and the 2026 African Club Championships for both men and women.
According to the Head of Sports, NCS, Samuel Onikeku, while the women’s trials have been scheduled to hold 9th to 19th July at the Nigeria Customs Service Training and Doctrine Command (TRADOC) in Gwagwalada, FCT, the men’s trials will take place immediately after the conclusion of the women’s trials.
He said the NCS aims to build on the positives recorded during the 2025 Women’s Club Championship held in Abuja.
“In a bid to strengthen the volleyball teams of the Service for podium performances at the next African Clubs Volleyball Championship, the Sports Unit of the Nigeria Customs Service is organising a two-week selection trial for female volleyball players interested in representing the Service.
“This invitation is open to all female volleyball players in Nigeria, with transportation, accommodation, and feeding provided. The selection trials for men’s volleyball players will follow immediately after the women’s trials,” Onikeku told Sporting Tribune.
He stated that the Service intends to improve its performance during the 2025 Comptroller General of Customs (CGC) Volleyball Premier League as a sign of its readiness for future competitions.
