The Supporters of Shooting Stars Sports Club (3SC) of Ibadan on Thursday named the Publisher of the Parrot Xtra, Yinka Agboola and the Ibadan ace musician, Taye Akande Currency as the team ambassador.
Speaking at the ceremony at the Lekan Salami sports complex, the Chairman Supporters Club, Oyeniyi said they picked the duo as ambassadors of 3SC due to their relevant in the state and country at large.
He said Agboola is relevant in the media industry and can pave way for the club across the globe while Taye Currency is also a force in the music industry.
“We aim at a N500m project and we start with the duo to raise the funds and we believe we can achieve the goal through the people.”
Meanwhile, Agboola thanked the club for picking him for the post and implored Oyo State Governor, Senator Abiola Ajimobi to do all it can to seriously set in motion how to return the club to its former position as a pacesetter on the football scene in Nigeria and indeed Africa.
He said doing so, the government will be helping to uphold the heritage which 3SC stands for.
“It will also help our youth, especially those who identify with the club and keep them inspired. And the more youths that are inspired, the more we build future super stars
“I am interested in 3SC’s welfare – especially the politics and the political ‘wiremesh’ around it.”.
Also, Taye Currency gave kudos to the organiser for picking a musician as 3SC ambassador.
“I promise to contribute my own quota to the development of the club.”
