TEAM Nigeria on Thursday increased its medal haul at the ongoing Rio Paralympics in Brazil through Iyiazi Eucharia.
Iyiazi, who competed in the women’s discuss throw-F57 finished with a throw of 27.54 metres to grab the bronze medal.
The Beijing 2008 Paralympics double gold medallist, had, last week, in the women’s shot put -F56/57 final, finished fourth with a season’s best of 9.31 metres.
Algerian Saifi Nassima won the gold with a throw of 33.33 metres, while Barry Orla of Ireland settled for silver medal with a throw of 30.06 metres.
Iyiazi, claimed double gold medals in Beijing, China in 2008 in the women’s shot put (F57/F58) and discus throw (F57/F58) events.
Meanwhile, as of the time of this report, Nigeria remains 10th on the medal’s table and Africa’s best with eight gold, two silver and two bronze medals.
It will be recalled, that Nigeria finished with six gold, five silver and two bronze medals at the London 2012 Paralympics.
The Rio 2016 ends on Sunday.
