Members of the Arsenal Supporters Club in Kubwa, Abuja, on Sunday held a thanksgiving service at St. Luke’s Catholic Church, Kubwa, to celebrate the club’s historic English Premier League (EPL) title victory.
The colourful event drew scores of Arsenal supporters, who gathered in appreciation for what they described as a memorable achievement for the North London club after years of waiting for league success.
Speaking during the celebration, the President of Arsenal Fans in Kubwa, Mr Chukwuma Ekeh, said the thanksgiving was necessary considering the significance of the triumph to the club’s supporters across the world.
According to him, Arsenal’s league title victory ended a 22-year wait for the prestigious trophy, making the occasion one of joy and gratitude among fans.
“We deemed it necessary to return thanks to God because this victory means a lot to Arsenal supporters. The club has finally broken a 22-year record without winning the league title, and we are all excited about the achievement,” Ekeh said.
He noted that throughout the season, fans remained hopeful and steadfast in their support for the team despite the challenges faced in previous campaigns.

The thanksgiving service featured prayers, songs of praise and special intercessions for the club, its players, coaching crew and supporters worldwide.
Many of the fans attended the service dressed in Arsenal’s iconic red and white colours, creating a festive atmosphere within the church premises. Some carried club scarves and banners while others took photographs to commemorate the occasion.
Several supporters who spoke at the event expressed optimism that the league triumph would mark the beginning of a new era of sustained success for Arsenal.
The celebration later continued with a social gathering where fans shared memories of the season and expressed confidence that the club would build on its achievement in future competitions.
