Conte happy with Mikel, Moses

CHELSEA coach, Antonio Conte on Thursday said he had no ill feelings about international break, especially after seeing his players doing well for their countries.

The Blues had the full first team training yesterday since the international break and the Italian has good words for his team.

“Coming from where I was, I  can’t be one of those to complain [about the international break]. It is always good to play for your country. I don’t know of a player who isn’t proud to wear his country’s colour. I wore it for Italy and I will always encourage my players to represent their countries,’ Conte told the club’s website.

He reserved special praise for Victor Moses, John Obi Mikel, Eden Hazard and club’s vice captain, Gary Cahill.

I am happy when my players score for their countries. That shows we are looking good and our work shows in all continents — Moses, Hazard, Mikel and Cahill scored international goals. Players like Moses and Dominic Solanke scored two goals, so the international break is refreshing to us’’

Moses netted two goals in Nigeria’s 3-1 win over Algeria while Mikel scored one in the game.

Eden Hazard was on target in Belgium’s 8-1 victory over Estonia while Cahill contributed a goal in England’s 3-0 spanking of Scotland.

Chelsea next visit Middlesbrough this weekend for an English Premiership match.
