Senegal have moved to strengthen their technical crew ahead of their crucial Group I fixture against Norway at the 2026 FIFA World Cup following their disappointing opening defeat to France.
The Teranga Lions suffered a 3-1 loss to France in their first group-stage match, leaving them under pressure to secure a positive result in their next outing.
In a bid to improve the team’s preparations, the Senegalese Football Federation has brought in experienced video analyst, Abdoulaye Seck, popularly known as “Laye Thales.”

Seck previously worked with the Mauritania national team, the Mourabitounes, under coach Amir Abdou, where he earned recognition for his expertise in video analysis and tactical assessment.
His arrival is expected to provide valuable support to Senegal’s coaching staff as they intensify preparations for the must-win encounter against Norway.
The addition of Seck is seen as part of Senegal’s efforts to gain a competitive edge and revive their World Cup campaign after the setback against France.
With qualification hopes hanging in the balance, the Lions will be hoping the technical reinforcement can help inspire a turnaround when they face Norway in their second group match.
