Barcelona have seen an initial €20 million bid for Karim Adeyemi rejected by Borussia Dortmund, according to reports.
The Catalan giants have made the surprise move for the Germany star but will have to raise their offer if they are to bring him to Camp Nou.
Marca say that Dortmund want at least the €33m they paid for Adeyemi, while previous reports have claimed the German side are holding out for €40m.
Mundo Deportivo are also reporting the offer has been rejected but say Dortmund are willing to negotiate.

Adeyemi is into the last year of his contract at Dortmund and is said to be unwilling to renew. The situation means that Dortmund must therefore sell him this summer or face losing him on a free transfer next year.
The 24-year-old is also said to be eager to make the move to Barcelona and play under Hansi Flick again, but we’ll have to wait and see how far the Catalans are prepared to go to land Adeyemi.
Meanwhile, Adeyemi is making a huge difference in Nigeria through the Karim Adeyemi Foundation, fulfilling a promise to his Nigerian father by investing in communities, especially in Ibadan and Lagos.
The foundation has built and equipped the Karim Adeyemi Emergency Paediatric Ward at Adeoyo State Maternity Teaching Hospital in Ibadan, helping thousands of children receive emergency treatment.
It has also partnered with the Red Cross to provide first-aid equipment and CPR training for teachers and pupils across Oyo State.
Its water projects include a treatment plant in Odo Osun that provides safe drinking water for more than 20,000 residents, while additional boreholes now serve over 35,000 people across four local government areas.
The foundation has also dredged the Temidire River to reduce flooding and built sanitation facilities for the Oje Market community.
In football, Adeyemi funds a residential academy for underprivileged youngsters and, alongside Super Eagles midfielder Wilfred Ndidi, helped build athlete hostels at Maracana Stadium in Ajegunle.
The foundation also pays school fees for academy players, supports SS3 students with free STEM learning through eTutors Nigeria, and organises an annual essay competition promoting sport as a tool for community development.
