AFCON 2021: Nigeria land in Round of 16

Super Eagles of Nigeria through to the knockout stages at the African Cup of Nations (AFCON) after beating Sudan 3-1 on Saturday at Garoua, Cameroon.

Villarreal star, Samuel Chukwueze scored Nigeria first goal in the 3rd minute through an assist from Moses Simon before Taiwo Awoniyi dubble the tally in the 45th minute.

Moses Simon gave the Eagles the third goal in the 46th minute to make 3-0 but Sudan midfielder Walieldin Khidir reduced the tally through a spot-kick in the 70th minute to make it 3-1.

Nigeria maintain tops in group D with maximum six points from two games and now join hosts Cameroon in the last 16 with a game to spare against Guinea-Bissau.
