Afe Babalola FC debuts in NNL

As the Nigeria National League (NNL) begins this weekend across the country, Aare Afe Babalola FC of Ado Ekiti will make their debut in the second tier-league as they play host to Sokoto United today at the Oluyemi Kayode Stadium, Ado Ekiti.

The secretary of the club, Mr Olowolafe Ayodeji, disclosed to Tribunesport by phone that the club cannot wait for the league to commence going by their preparation so far for the season.

He said the team have played so many friendly games within and outside the state to prepare them for the task ahead, just as the Team Manager, Mr Fabunmi Opeyemi has hailed the courage of the club’s financier, Aare Afe Babalola, for his love for the youth development and growth of the game.

Aare Afe Babalola, who is also the proprietor and founder of the fast-growing private university has promised to do all within his reach to make the team an enviable one for all in the country.

The chief coach of the team, Ademola Agbana, has therefore enjoined all and sundry to come to the stadium come to cheer the team to victory.

He added that the team is the pride of Ekiti and that they should all rally round to position them to where they belong among football Clubs in the country which is the Premier League as contained in a whatsApp message sent to Tribunesport and signed by Akin Maxwell, the club’s coordinator of the Ado Ekiti-based team.
