Barely a week after Napoli star, Victor Osimhen, got ruled out of this month’s friendly against Algeria following an injury, another Super Eagles forward, Sadiq Umar, will also miss the game billed for Oran on September 27.
Reason: Real Sociedad’s new signing, Sadiq, will face a long spell on the sidelines after suffering a cruciate ligament injury in the right leg according to the official website of the LaLiga side.
Sadiq suffered the injury in Real Sociedad’s 1-2 loss to Getafe in a LaLiga Santander game at the Coliseum Alfonso Pérez on Sunday.
The former UD Almeria forward was substituted in the 38th minute of the game following the injury in his third game for Sociedad.Alexander Isak who moved to Newcastle United.
Tests carried out on Monday showed he had torn his right ACL.

Real Sociedad confirmed Sadiq will undergo surgery in the coming days, but the Basque County based outfit did not reveal how long he will be out of action.
However, the Nigeria international forward could miss the rest of the season.
Sadiq, who was Sociedad’s top summer signing, made an immediate impact by scoring on his debut in a 1-1 draw against Atletico Madrid on September 3.
He started for Sociedad in their historic first victory over Manchester United at Old Trafford in their Europa League group game last Thursday.
The 2016 Rio Olympic bronze medallist has three goals under his belt in the Spanish top-flight so fat having scored two goals for Almeria before his €20 million summer move on transfer deadline day.
