The final of Aiteo Cup will not hold this weekend according to our source.
This is even as CAF have granted NFF’s request for an extension of the deadline for the submission of Nigeria’s Confederation Cup representatives.
The initial deadline was October 14, the same date the final was fixed but circumstances beyond the Federation’s control mean the Aiteo Cup final cannot be feasible this weekend.
Super Eagles are expected to engage Libya in the first of a double-header in Uyo on Saturday while the team depart for Tunisia for the reverse tie on Monday.
With the Aiteo Cup final slated for Asaba, it would pose logistical problems for the NFF having the game a day after the Uyo tie before leaving for Tunisia next day.

CAF have shifted the deadline to October 21, ample time for the Federation to sort out the AFCON schedules and focus on the Aiteo Cup final which has now been slated for October 20 in Asaba.
The semi-finals will however go on as scheduled on Wednesday. Rangers engage Nasarawa United in Kano while Kano Pillars square up against Katsina United in Lagos.
Winners of the Aiteo Cup will represent Nigeria at the 2019 CAF Confederation Cup.
