Ambrose targets European ticket for Hibernian

Super Eagles defender, Efe Ambrose, is targeting a European Cup feat for his Scotland-based team, Hibernian FC.

The player joined Hibernian on loan from Celtic July last year despite having offers in some parts of Europe.

Ambrose was in the team that defeated highly-rated rangers 2-1 at the weekend to boost the team’s chances of winning a continental ticket.

Hibernian are fourth position with 44 points from 26 matches with 12 wins, eight draws and six defeats. They are behind Celtic (60 points), Aberdeen (52 points) and Rangers (46 points).

He said: “We just want to be in better position and beating Rangers was a big deal for us. We are working hard to keep the momentum and get better every week.

“My target and that of my other colleagues is to finish second or third because to win the title is tough for us with the standings now.

“I am so happy in the team because we are all one family and we are highly motivated to get the best results.”
