For the Premier League’s two most embattled managers, Jurgen Klopp of Liverpool and Arsenal’s Arsene Wenger, tonight’s game is one they cannot afford to lose.
After Liverpool’s 3-1 defeat by Leicester on Monday night, Klopp said: “We all play for our future, myself included.”
For Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger, memories of abject defeats at Bayern Munich and Chelsea remain fresh and Arsenal cannot contemplate another setback in their attempts to qualify for the Champions League once more.
Their meeting on the opening day of the season at the Emirates Stadium was a thrilling encounter which Klopp’s side edged 4-3.
