The President, International Association of Athletics Federations (IAAF), Sebastian Coe, has described Nigeria’s international Victor Moses as Chelsea’s potential Player Of The Season.
Speaking with the club’s website on Friday, Coe, who also headed the Organising Committee for London 2012 Olympics, described Moses as a player in Chelsea’s authentic mentality.
“He would be up there when discussing potential Player of the Year nominees,” said Coe, adding: “For me, Victor is in the best traditions of a Chelsea player – he is absolutely committed, gives everything each game and has a real passion.’’
To Coe, the only players who could beat Moses to Chelsea player award are the talismanic Belgian Eden Hazard and hardworking Frenchman N’golo Kante.
“I would also include Eden Hazard in discussions, if only for the goal against Arsenal and N’Golo Kante’s box-to box service which is the best in England now.”
He described Moses’ new contract as excellent news.
“I think he has been a revelation. It’s fantastic to see us getting the best of him. Antonio Conte has seen something in him straight away, and he’s done very well as an overlapping full-back,” said Coe, an avid fan of Chelsea.
