Arsenal’s plan B

Arsenal are believed to be considering a bid for a Premier League star if they fail to land Monaco’s Kylian Mbappe.

As well as Lyon striker Alexandre Lacazette, Arsenal are also hoping to lure one of Europe’s best and brightest to the Emirates this summer, with their number one target being Monaco’s 18-year-old forward Kylian Mbappe.

However, should they fail to sign Mbappe, they ‘gunners’ have already lined up a potential alternative.

According to reports in the ‘Daily Mail’, the Londoners are following Manchester United forward Anthony Martial who enjoyed a difficult season under boss Jose Mourinho.

However, Arsenal’s French manager, Arsene Wenger, who envisages paying a fee in the region of €45million for the former Monaco man, is well aware that United boss Jose Mourinho could block the move, due to the long-standing fraught relationship between the two managers.

Time will tell if United intend to keep the French international at the club amid links with several new forward players.
