Arsene Wenger admits the international break is driving him to distraction and providing him with sleepless nights.
Arsenal are facing a daunting November with a trip to Old Trafford and a crunch Champions League encounter with PSG on the horizon.
Wenger is already sweating over the fitness of Alexis Sanchez, who suffered a hamstring strain while on duty with Chile, while Hector Bellerin is reported to have injured ankle ligaments representing the Spanish Under-21 side.
Laurent Koscielny, according to Wenger, is in the infamous red zone and France coach Didier Deschamps is likely to select Olivier Giroud despite admitting the striker was no 100 per cent fit.
‘Look, you are always on the phone. Before the game and you think hopefully you will have no bad news,’ Wenger told beIN sports.
‘But especially after the game you look at how long they played, did anyone come off injured.
‘You wait for the statements of your physios because they are in touch with all the players after the game.
‘We have an hour where we text each other with the physios. They text me to say they are alright or we got this or that injury.
‘Before they start the games you already know you will have a sleepless night.
‘Sometimes you’re angry because they play a friendly game, they’re overloaded with games and instead of being taken off they play the 90 minutes.’
