Arsenal might have just beaten London rivals Chelsea 3-0 but Arsene Wenger can see room for improvement from his team.
It was a hugely encouraging performance from the Gunners on Saturday evening, with a solid defensive display laying the foundations for the side’s attacking players to excel.
Goals from Alexis Sanchez, Theo Walcott and Mesut Ozil in the first half ensured Arsenal’s first Premier League win over Chelsea for five years.
However Wenger sees four areas in particular that his side must improve.
‘We still have much more to do,’ Wenger told Arsenal.com. ‘In our defensive solidity, in our movement off the ball and without the ball. Our pressing is not always perfect.’
In addition to solidity in defence, movement and pressing, Wenger identified one other area.
‘What is amazing in life is how the energy of a group of people can fluctuate. To maintain an energy in a group no one can master, so the players have to take care of that too.’
Arsenal can begin putting those improvements into practice when they play Basel in the Champions League on Wednesday.
