Aston Villa are in advanced negotiations to sign Chelsea winger, Alejandro Garnacho, on an initial loan deal that could include an obligation to buy.
The proposed agreement would allow Garnacho to move to Villa Park on loan before completing a permanent transfer under certain conditions, according to reports.
The development comes only days after Chelsea agreed a club-record £117 million deal to sign midfielder Morgan Rogers from Aston Villa.
Chelsea are willing to sanction Garnacho’s departure despite signing the 21-year-old from Manchester United for £40 million last September.
The Premier League club had previously made the Argentina international available for transfer at around £43 million, but are now open to a structured deal that begins as a loan before becoming permanent if agreed conditions are met.
Alongside Garnacho, striker Nicolas Jackson, who is valued at £65 million, has also been discussed as part of separate transfer conversations involving Aston Villa.
Under the terms of Garnacho’s move from Manchester United to Chelsea, the Old Trafford club would receive 10 per cent of any future transfer fee if the winger completes a permanent switch to Villa.
If completed, Garnacho would become Aston Villa’s fourth signing of the summer following the arrivals of Johan Manzambi, Joao Gomes and Modou Kaba Cisse.

Villa have also generated close to £200 million through player sales during the current transfer window.
Among those who have left the club are Youri Tielemans, Donyell Malen, Enzo Barrenechea and Lewis Dobbin, as manager Unai Emery reshapes his squad ahead of the new season.
Garnacho struggled to establish himself during his first season at Chelsea, scoring just one Premier League goal after his arrival from Manchester United.
His opportunities became even more limited following Chelsea’s acquisitions of Morgan Rogers and Sporting CP winger Geovany Quenda, increasing the club’s need to reduce the size of its squad before the start of the new campaign.
The Argentina international is regarded as one of the country’s brightest young attacking talents and could now be set for a fresh opportunity under Unai Emery as Aston Villa prepare for a campaign that includes European football.
