Arsenal suffered recession under Wenger ―Aubameyang

Arsenal striker, Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang has explained that the Gunners were stagnating under Arsene Wenger but next season could be different.

The forward was brought in by Wenger in the January transfer window and he has impressed after a slightly difficult start.

The Gabon international ended up finishing the season with 10 goals in 13 starts for the North London side.

Though, even he knew that the club was becoming stale with Arsene Wenger at the helm.

That is because he has admitted today that the club was stagnating under the Frenchman.

Though, everyone is excited to see what happens next season.

“Over the last few seasons – you have to tell the truth – the club has stagnated a little bit,” he explained on French radio station RMC, as cited by the Daily Mirror.

“I think everyone is actually a little bit excited to see what happens next season.

“Unai Emery he’s a really good coach. In Paris, it’s never very easy. There’s a huge amount of pressure… I know he did really good work with Sevilla and with PSG too.

“It is strange that the coach has left after 22 years. But that’s life — we have to look forward.

“It’s going to be a new start so we’ll have so we’ll have to see how it goes.

“Everyone will have to get it into their heads that we have to work hard to rival the best.”

Aubameyang isn’t the only one that thinks the club are going back in the right direction.

That is because Ivan Gazidis has been speaking about the appointment of Unai Emery this week.

Safe to say, he’s pretty sure that the Spanish boss is the right man.
