A Cycling professional, Mutiu Azeez and young star, Elizabeth Ajibade won in their respective category at the fourth edition of Asiwajuniwa Cycling racing event held in Ibadan.
The tournament, tagged “Discovering New Talent” was sponsored by Orchard Hotels and Boff and Company Insurance Brokers with the support of Oyo State Sports Council.
An elated Azeez said he was happy for emerging the winner in his category while he urged both state and federal government to invest in Cycling sports.
He said there had not been enough competition in cycling but applauded the sponsorship of Orchard Hotels and Boff and Company Insurance Brokers for bringing best out of them.
Also, Chief Executive Officer of Boff and Co Insurance Brokers, Babajide Olatunde-Agbeja while speaking at the reception for the participants at the Orchard Hotels on Sunday said he was excited about the turnout despite the short notice.
He said that the competition was geared at catching them young pledging to invest more into the game with suuport of his friend, Mr Edward Efe, the owner of Orchard Hotels.
“The age categories and catching them young are impressive. They have so much energy to burn. They are our future and I believe they’ll become stars. This competition is not about winning but about participating and making new friends,” he said.

Olatunde-Agbeja further assured that the competition would be an annual event.
“I’m impressed with what I saw today and I’ll continue to support cycling in Nigeria,” he pledged.
“This is just the beginning and we hope to do more. I want to say the gifts you are getting today (Sunday) is not the essence of the competition but the networking and relationship been built today.
“Don’t give up, keeping pushing and you’ll get there,” he said.
Present at the presentation were; Director of Sports, Oyo State Ministry of Youth and Sports, Mrs Adegoke; General Manager, Oyo State Sports Council, Mr Gboyega Makinde; Mr Yomi Salami among others.
