Super Eagles forward, Akor Adams, has reacted after scoring his 10th La Liga goal of the season in Sevilla’s dramatic 3-2 comeback win over Villarreal on Wednesday.

Adams scored the decisive goal in the 72nd minute to complete Sevilla’s fightback after the visitors had fallen two goals behind inside the opening 20 minutes at the Estadio de la Cerámica.

Reacting after the match, the 26-year-old expressed gratitude on social media.

On his X account, Adams wrote: “Baba na you do this one.”

He also posted on Instagram: “For with God all things are possible for them that believe!”

Villarreal had taken control of the game early through goals from Gerard Moreno and Georges Mikautadze, but Sevilla responded before halftime through Oso and Kike Salas to level proceedings.

With the game tied at 2-2 in the second half, Alexis Sánchez, Juanlu Sánchez and Djibril Sow combined to set up Adams, who fired a left-footed strike past goalkeeper Arnau Tenas to hand Sevilla all three points.

The victory was Sevilla’s second consecutive win secured by Adams, following his late winner against Espanyol in their previous league game.

The result also moved Sevilla four points clear of the relegation zone with two matches remaining, strengthening their hopes of staying in the Spanish top flight.

Adams’ latest strike took his tally to 10 league goals this season, placing him among a select group of Nigerian players to reach double figures in a single La Liga campaign, alongside Ikechukwu Uche and Finidi George.

The forward’s recent form comes at a crucial stage of the season for Sevilla and ahead of Nigeria’s upcoming international fixtures.
