‘Bale to Manchester United will happen’

August 8, 2017
Giggs believes a move to Old Trafford is on the cards for Gareth Bale.

Ryan Giggs spoke about his fellow countryman and his lifelong club on ‘TribalFootball’, and he suggested it was only a matter of time before the Welshman arrived at Old Trafford.

After Mourinho stated his intentions of chasing the Madrid man, Giggs spoke about the likelihood of the switch: ‘Maybe not in this transfer window but it will happen one day’, he said.

‘If Bale ever comes back to England there are very few clubs who would be able to afford him or he would want to play for’, the United legend continued.

Giggs spoke about the complications surrounding his signing: ‘After Real Madrid only a couple of clubs can really compete for prestige or history. It’s not impossible but he’s playing at one of the biggest clubs in the world’, he said.

Bale has been linked with a move away from the Bernabeu after falling out of favour with coach Zidane, who has no intention of selling the Welshman. ‘If he’s enjoying himself and playing regularly I don’t see it happening’, Giggs conceded.

‘The speculation happens every year but I maintain what I’ve always said, I think he’s happy at Madrid’, the United great said.
