Leon Balogun has made a successful return from injury for German club, FSV Mainz.
The defender sustained an injury on September 24 during his club’s Bundesliga game against Bayer Leverkusen at the OPEL ARENA.
He missed out on the club’s next four matches against Qabala, Wolfsburg, Rot-Weiß Hadamar and Darmstadt 98.
Balogun, a regular face in the Super Eagles, was also absent as Nigeria beat Zambia 2-1 in Ndola in their opening group game of the 2018 World Cup qualifiers.
The 28-year-old was, however, listed in the Mainz match day squad by head coach, Martin Schmidt in Thursday’s 1-1 draw with Belgian club, Anderlecht, in the Uefa Europa League.
Balogun was an unused substitute in the game decided in front of 21,317 fans at the OPEL ARENA.
The big Nigerian defender has been capped four times at senior level by his country.
