In an exciting turn of events, Jose Mourinho’s Roma secured their place in the Europa League final, where they will face the formidable Sevilla team.
Roma displayed resolute defense in the second leg against Bayer Leverkusen, holding onto their 1-0 advantage from the first leg to secure the goalless draw they needed to progress. Despite Leverkusen’s relentless efforts, including a powerful shot from Moussa Diaby that hit the crossbar, Roma denied their opponents any clear-cut opportunities.
Sardar Azmoun came close for Leverkusen, but his close-range effort narrowly missed the target.
Roma, aiming to secure consecutive European titles following their victory in the Europa Conference League last season, showcased a Mourinho masterclass in the second half to neutralize Leverkusen’s attacks and emerge triumphant.

On the other hand, Sevilla faced a tough challenge against Juventus in a thrilling match that extended into extra time. Juventus’ Moise Kean hit the post in the first half, but goalkeeper Wojciech Szczesny made a series of impressive saves to keep Sevilla at bay, including denying Lucas Ocampos a goal-scoring opportunity.
Dusan Vlahovic gave Juventus the lead in the 65th minute shortly after coming off the bench, but Sevilla’s Suso equalized with a stunning strike six minutes later.
Sevilla came close to securing victory at the end of normal time, but Szczesny once again made a remarkable save to keep out Youssef En-Nesyri’s header. However, in extra time, Erik Lamela’s header from Bryan Gil’s cross found the back of the net, giving Sevilla the decisive goal.
Despite Marcos Acuna receiving a second yellow card for time-wasting, Sevilla held on to secure their place in the final and maintain their impressive track record, reaching their seventh final in 18 years.
