BREAKING: Benzema agrees contract extension

Real Madrid forward Karim Benzema has agreed a contract extension that will tie him to the club until 2021.

BeSoccer reported earlier on Wednesday that Benzema was on the verge of a new deal and that has since been confirmed by his club, with the player set take part in a press conference tomorrow in front of the media to discuss the deal.

Benzema’s current contract at the Bernabeu has been due to expire in 2019, but the extension will see the player remain with ‘Los Blancos’ until June 30th 2021.

Despite an indifferent start to the new season, Real Madrid boss is a huge fan of Benzema’s talents and was keen to tie the former Lyon striker down to a new deal.

The French international follows in the recent footsteps of Isco, Marcelo and Dani Carvajal in agreeing to extend his stay in the Spanish capital, with the forward reportedly still hopeful of ending his career with the Spanish giants.
